The EDRN Resource Network Exchange (ERNE) uses the OODT grid
framework's product server for the exchange of specimen
biomarkers. This is the product server that provides real-time
access to sites' specific specimen databases. This release is for
Unix, Unix-like, and Unix-based systems. Linux users may wish to
use the RPM release. Mac OS X users should use the Mac OS X
release.
To install the Product Server for
Linux,
download
the compressed tar archive
, uncompress and extract it to
retrieve the RPM. As
root
, run
rpm
-i
on the RPM to install the product server. You
will need to have
Java 2
Software Development Kit 1.4.2
on your system as well.
Version 1.5 will not work.
Note:
If the
rpm
program complains that
it cannot find Java Software Development Kit 1.4.2 or later
on your system and Java is indeed present, rerun the
rpm
command as
rpm --nodeps -i
.
That will tell
rpm
to skip the dependency check
for Java.
Your system will need to be accessible on the public
Internet, and any firewall protecing your system must allow
