PDS-D Product Server for Win32/i386The Planetary Data System (PDS) Data Distribution System (PDS-D) uses the OODT Data Grid Framework 's product servers to support search and retrieval of planetary data. The Windows Product Server is for discipline nodes running Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows 2003 Server on i386 and compatible hardware. It enables even such platforms as Windows to perform real-time conversions of PDS data to industry-standard formats, retrieval of raw PDS data, PDS labels, and other information. InstallationTo install the Product Server for Win32, download the installer and follow the installation instructions . Before proceeding, make sure you have the have Java 2 Software Development Kit 1.4.2 or later installed on your system. Your system will also need to be accessible on the public Internet, and any firewall protecing your system must allow incoming TCP/IP traffic to port 7576 from *.jpl.nasa.gov . (The product server's traffic is HTTP, and, if necessary, you can run the server on a different port.) |
